Diamond Jubilee Medal Awarded to Adrienne McLennan

The Honourable David C. Onley has invited the Chair of the Good Neighbours’ Club, Adrienne McLennan, to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal at an awards ceremony in February. The Diamond Jubilee Medal honours significiant contributions and achievements by Canadians.

Upon her appointment to the Toronto Police Service as Director of Public Affairs, Adrienne McLennan was the highest ranking woman and civilian on any Canadian police force. Previously, she was the Director of Communications for the City of Scarborough. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the RCMI and holds the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. She has served as Director of Public Relations to the Ontario Chiefs of Police Association as well as consultant to a number of police services in Southern Ontario.

To be selected for this award is a great honour. The Good Neighbours’ Club extends their congratulations to Adrienne McLennan for this wonderful honour.

No Place Like Home

features the stories of

Good Neighbours' Club

members

Accomplished filmmaker Karen O'Donnell has produced a short documentary for TVOntario called No Place Like Home.

It features the poignant stories of two of our members who, through no fault of their own, found themselves homeless and struggling--and grateful for the friendship and support they have found at The Good Neighbours' Club.

One of the principal figures in this documentary, Craig Wall, passed away in December. At his funeral, he was remembered for being caring, quick-witted, and a larger-than-life presence wherever he went. We extend our condolences to Debbie and all of Craig's family and friends.

The Good Neighbours' Club will work with other downtown agencies that knew Craig to organize a memorial service for those who knew him best in the last few years of his life.
