eighbours' Club RemembersOn November 11th, at 11:00am EST, members of The Good Neighbours' Club rose to their feet, removed their hats, bowed their heads, and observed two minutes of silence in honour of those who have served and are serving in Canada's armed forces.
The usually boisterous atmosphere on every floor changed into one of subdued respect, as the Club television sets were switched to our national Remembrance Day service broadcast live from Ottawa. "I have never been so proud to be part of this organization as I was today," remarked Lauro Monteiro, Director of Operations.
Members also visited the 48th Highlanders' Museum on November 10th, a visit arranged by The Good Neighbours' Club Recreational Therapist, Nerysa Devon.
The Good Neighbours' Club also sent a gift basket to their good friends at the Moss Park Armoury, as a token of gratitude. The Good Neighbours' Club has a long history of support from Canada's military, dating back to the Club's inception in 1933.
